Dashing through the snow...I mean wind and cold...In a one horse open sleigh...I mean Golf Cart! Well we sang it the correct way this weekend while we were riding in the freezing cold on a golf cart through Lake Laniers Magical Night of Lights. We had the best time...some family time together that was much needed!
We started Saturday with breakfast at Cracker Barrel with our wonderful friends...Jason, Amanda and precious little Colton. We had a great time and let the kids exchange presents. I will post a picture of the beautiful pillowcase Amanda had made for Kendall...we love it! Landon was excited b/c he got mouse trap...we ended up playing it in the hotel...he is truly not a patient kid!
After breakfast we headed to Lake Lanier...we decided to get a golf cart for the night...I know we are def. crazy! We headed out at 5...went to the holiday village where we roasted marshmallows...the kids rode a pony...they also rode some carnival rides...did I mention that it was freezing and very windy? The kids never complained, we had them bundled up and they had a blast! After we left the village in the golf cart we decided to look at the rest of the lights...WOW...there were several thousand other people who were doing the same thing! Thankfully we had the golf cart...we didn't have to wait in the stand still traffic...we sang our own christmas carrolls and enjoyed the memories we were making! Dave was def. in his element....we were driving all over that golf course...up hills...under bridge/underpasses...down more hills...over bridges, crazy but awesome! The lights were incredible...I can't wait to go back...maybe next year? I am so lucky to have such wonderful children and such a loving husband. This time of year it easy to lose focus on the things that really make us happy....sometimes the biggest gift of all isn't "material" at all.
