Oh Christmas tree....

Since I was a little girl putting up the Christmas tree has always been special. My mom always made gingerbread men, which my brother and I decorated...and listened to Christmas music as we decorated our "live" tree... I have so many special memories. Thankfully our kids get just as excited about putting our tree up.

This year Dave decided we would be using a "fake" tree...as I like to refer to them...last year our huge "real" tree fell and broke some of my favorite ornaments. So sad. In thinking we would prevent the same thing from happening this year...Dave came up with the "fake" tree idea. Laugh now....b/c the fake tree fell this year too! Thankfully it didn't break any of my nice ornaments! We took it down and took the kids and found the perfect size (smaller than usuall for us) tree! The kids were so excited! They did a wonderful job decorating and turn the lights on every night when we get home. Of course we topped off the weekend by decorating gingerbread houses and baking cookies!
