When the world stops turning....

I don't know any better way to say it...my world stopped turning yesterday...briefly. We had gone to the pumpkin farm and had a wonderful morning...we decided to drive into Dawsonville and pick up a piece of furniture that we had been wanting...then we got the phone call. I answered the phone and it was Landon's doctor...yes doctor...not nurse...the doctor. She said "we have an issue with Landon's recent blood work"...we need you to get to the hospital immediately. I explained to her that we were in Dawsonville and she quickly tried to find a hospital nearby...you can only imagine what was running thru my head. I had made an appointment for last Thursday b/c he was acting very tired...I thought maybe his iron was low. The doctor finally agreed to let us drive to Cartersville to the emergency room...his potassium was dangerously high...but let me assure you...he was in no way acting sick or even like he didn't feel well! We got to the hospital where my mom was waiting to get Kendall (she drove from Dalton) just as scared as we were. They had "stat" orders from the doctor for another blood test..where we were told if the levels didn't test lower he would be admitted to the hospital immediately. Thank God they were down to normal!!!! I was scared to death...of course all bad things come into your head at a time like that...all I could say was...God I know you wouldn't do this to me now...I can not handle something being wrong with another child...please NO! He is okay and we will have to keep a check on it...apparently when the first blood work was done it was done close to a meal and it made the levels test higher. I have to admit...this was the first time we have received a call directly from the doctor and hopefully the last time...Dave and I were so worried about our sweet little man. The doctor apologized several times for the scare...however, I am just glad that our sweet boy is okay!
